ON NOVEMBER 3RD, VOTE YES FOR DECATUR STUDENTS, SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITY!
MSD of Decatur Township is asking voters to reduce and replace the operating referendum approved by our community in 2019. Renewing the existing operating referendum will lower the maximum rate from $0.2890 to $0.2690 (a reduction of $0.02) and replace the existing referendum rather than create a new tax.

What Your YES Vote Supports
Operating referendum funds will allow MSD of Decatur Township to...
continue to provide our students with transportation services.
provide our students with safe and secure learning environments.
cover the costs associated with utilities and maintenance of or schools.
What Happens If The Referendum Is Not Approved?
If the community does not support the renewal of the referendum, the school district projects that it will need to cut the budget by approximately $8 million over the following two years.
Deep cuts in the district's budget may include, but are not limited to:
-
Reductions in transportation services.
-
Reductions in personnel.
-
Implementation of designated school walk zones where feasible and appropriate.
-
Reduction of transportation support for extracurricular activities, including athletics, performing arts, extended-day programs, and student clubs, or the introduction of fees for these services.
-
District-wide elimination or reductions in programs, staff, and operational expenditures.
